With petrol engines, maximum horsepower is only part of the story. STEINBAUER development focuses strongly on increasing torque through the usable engine-speed range, giving livelier acceleration, sharper response and a more engaging drive — both on the road and under load.
Depending on the engine and application, the STEINBAUER module processes signals such as engine speed, accelerator position and engine load, then applies a vehicle-specific performance strategy while the original ECU remains in place. The aim is progressive, usable performance rather than simply the largest possible peak BHP number.

How STEINBAUER petrol tuning works
The STEINBAUER module works alongside the original engine-management system. It reads relevant operating signals and applies a calibrated performance strategy developed for the specific engine and vehicle application.
Particular attention is paid to the engine-speed range where additional torque and response provide the greatest real-world benefit. Performance is therefore delivered progressively rather than as a single generic intervention across the entire rev range.
The factory ECU remains installed with its original software and continues to monitor the vehicle and engine systems. The STEINBAUER hardware can be removed, avoiding a permanent ECU software rewrite.
